Hey PWEN people,

I was at work this morning when the Holy Spirit dropped an important message into my spirit. We all know or at least most of us have heard that “hurt people, hurt people” but the Holy Spirit said that it’s imperative to note that “healed people, help people.”

When we allow ourselves to heal past the hurt of our triggers and traumas, we have the propensity to help others in need. That is, other people who either are or have gone through the things that we have healed from.

I thought that nugget from the Holy Spirit was so special because it was a reminder of how much power is in our testimony. As the word of God says we are “saved by the blood of the lamb and by the words of our testimony.” When we allow ourselves to move past our insecurities and share what we’ve overcome, there’s no limit to the amount of good we can do in someone else’s life.

I spoke to a woman the other day, who had been working out for some time and was discouraged about her progress. She didn’t voice it out loud but it was clear in her facial expression and attitude that she was ready to call it quits. I then spoke to her about my own weight loss journey and how patience and consistency were the two main practices that helped to turn things around.

She was so encouraged by what I said that it inspired her to continue along her own journey. Getting to a place of healing past your hurt isn’t an easy thing to do but it is worthwhile. When you’re healed from something, it no longer has power or control over you.

When you’re healed from something, it can no longer get in the way of your potential. You can grow and flourish without any drawbacks. When you’re healed from something, you can pass on your tools to people who need to use them. Your healing now becomes the foundation of help for someone else’s suffering.

Tell your story! Give your testimony! Someone is in need of saving and God anointed your voice with the antidote! We are blessed to be a blessing to others and it is by lifting our voices and speaking our truth that we begin that path of blessing.

I know first hand how releasing our testimony frees us and I don’t want anyone left behind. When I wrote my first book “In The Beginning” and spoke about my alcoholism, promiscuity, and porn addiction, I was embarrassed. I didn’t want to air myself out like that.

The Holy Spirit then reminded me that I’m not that person anymore and that sharing about the things I did wrong would free others who are having a hard time admitting the truth. Even a year after releasing this book, people still tell me how my telling my truth and healing from it, helped them with theirs. Til’ next time, adieu.

Hey PWEN people!

I wanted to use this post to brag on God because He is so worthy and deserving to be praised. I recently moved from Tulsa Oklahoma to Los Angeles California, and the Lord had His hand in every part of my move. What started out as a whisper of a word, turned into a miraculous mission.

At the end of 2021 I was dealing with some heavy things. I had gone through another embarrassing manic episode and also struggling through the 1st anniversary of my mother’s passing. Needless to say, I was desperate for change going into the next year. In the beginning of this year 2022, I was looking for work and so uncertain of where the Lord wanted me to serve and commit myself. With the help of my family and tons of prayer, I put in applications to work as a substitute teacher at different schools in Tulsa. After maybe 50 applications, a school replied to me and requested an interview. Upon doing the interview, I was told that I got the job on the same day, and I started working there a week later.

The job was very hard for me and after a month and a half, I began to feel like I couldn’t hang in there anymore. That’s when I heard the whisper. The Holy Spirit had whispered to me that I was moving. I received this message immediately because I knew that my lease would be up in a few months. I had assumed that I was going to be simply moving to another apartment complex in Tulsa. The whisper then became more specific, “You’re moving to California.” Ya’ll I was floored by this revelation!

Moving from Oklahoma to California would be no easy feat so I needed to make sure I heard right. 20 confirmations later, I finally received that what I heard, did indeed come from the Holy Spirit, and I was moving to California. After that, I immediately started getting ready to sell my furniture. I staged photos and as soon as I posted my items, most things sold in the first two weeks but within a month, everything had sold out! When I was now putting together applications for work, the Lord had me focus my applications on my old work life: training and coaching.

Within a week I was hired for a full time job that was going to pay me more that the substitute teaching job. And finally with housing the Lord found me a reasonably priced space, one neighborhood over from where I now work. All of this happened to me in under two months! Let my life be an example. Jesus provides. Jesus is faithful. Jesus will do exactly what He says He will do. As for us, we just have to trust Him and do our part. Don’t be afraid to listen even if it’s a whisper. What started out as a whisper, swiftly changed my life. Til’ next time adieu.

Hey PWEN people! I wanted to share a message that the Lord gave to me while I was in church service. The focus of the pastor’s sermon was on 2 Kings 5 which highlights a man named Naaman who has leprosy and is seeking healing. He eventually meets the prophet Elisha who tells him to go wash seven times in the Jordan river. At first Naaman is indignant about going to the Jordan river when compared to the other rivers because it’s dirtier, but eventually he listens and is healed. What the Lord told me after reading this story is “don’t call dirty what God has called clean or you may miss your blessing.” The Lord then reminded me of Acts 10 where Peter has the vision of all the clean and unclean animals and is told to eat them. Peter didn’t want to eat what was unclean but God said to him “do not call something unclean if God has made clean.” [Acts 10:15 NLT] So Peter obeyed.

Now it might not look like it but there are so many times when you and I have been just like Naaman or Peter with the different things that arise in our lives. Like Naaman we’ve had issues, problems, or mishaps that we’ve needed God to solve and when we get our answer, we don’t like it. We don’t like how it feels, we don’t like the package that it came in; we don’t like the actions we’ll have to take. And at times because we acted too slow on whatever God gave us as His response to the issue, we’ve missed out on major blessings.

Like Peter we’ve had our different priorities, preferences and the specific ways that we choose to do things but when the Lord told us to switch up our diets, we didn’t, and it cost us as well. I know I’m not the only one! What Naaman and Peter have in common however, is that despite their initial misgivings, they eventually obeyed God and were blessed for it.

Naaman washed seven times in the Jordan river and his leprosy was healed permanently. Peter received and accepted the vision he had and started preaching the gospel to the Gentiles which forever changed and shifted his ministry. The same thing can be done for us. We, too, can experience healing and important life shifts that impact us for the better. But we have to listen and obey the word of the Lord. Let me encourage you today. The blessings of the Lord cannot be predicted. They are as infinite as He is. If we allow ourselves to get too caught up in the “why” of an instruction from Jesus instead remembering the “who” that we are being obedient to, we miss out. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭NLT says “But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. ‭‭That is how we know we are living in Him.” Obey Jesus, get blessed.

Til’ next time adieu.
